About

WELCOME TO PEANUT BUTTER & SUNSHINE!  I'm so happy that you've popped in.  Please stay for a while and get to know us a little bit!

More on the Title HERE
A little bit about the title: Peanut Butter and Sunshine.  What is that all about?  Basically, these 2 things capture the things in life that are so hard for me to balance.  Peanut butter represents the busy-ness of life.  The little sticky fingers that need to be wiped throughout the day.  The messy counters that need to be cleaned.  The stains on the clothes that need to be carefully laundered out.  Sunshine represents the warmth and rest that you find in small moments during the day as well as the planned times of relaxation.  It also reminds me of the peace that can only be experienced when basking in the Son!

I am the wife to my husband of almost 4 years, Zach.  As a man who loves Jesus, his love for his savior overflows into love his family.  He is an amazingly dedicated man in all that he does.  He works extremely hard at work, and he works on his Masters online while at hom
e.  He manages to know when to stop working so that he can spend quality time with us at home.  Although he "stops working", his mind is continually going.   He also loves being physically active and tries to squeeze that in among everything else that he balances. He realizes the importance of a personal, ongoing relationship with Christ. He is a very present daddy.  He absolutely loves spending time with our little girls.  Even while balancing everything else, by the grace of God, we still manage to find time to see each other one on one.

I'm the mother of an ACTIVE 3-going-on-15 little girl, Kaylee.  She is a huge helper.  She loves to help me clean the bathrooms and sort the laundry.  She loves helping with her little sisters. She's definitely a little mommy.  Her smile and laugh are contagious.  Her emotions are never lacking and we always know exactly how she's feeling.  Her mouth runs a mile a minute.  She is very affectionate and empathizes with those around her easily.  Her heart is full of compassion for others. Although she can easily get caught up in the "world-is-about-me" idea--that we ALL get caught in a times--she can easily be turned around.  She reasons beyond her years.  Her memory extends back further than I thought possible.  She catches onto concepts that many 5-year-olds don't understand.  I am so honored to have had this girl make me a mommy.

Kara is almost 2.  She has hit the age of testing boundaries.  I can tell that she will be determined to do whatever she sets her mind to in life because she is already practicing that character trait.  Her smile envelopes my heart and holds it right close to her.  Her blue eyes capture a piece of my soul every time I look into them.  She looks up to Kaylee as a role model and copies everything that she does.  She is enamored with being a big sister. The way that she cares for Natalie is so precious and gentle.  If anyone can handle being a middle child, it's this girl.

I'm so beyond excited to get to know who little Natalie will grow up to be.  At this point, she is a laid-back baby who is taking the world in as best as a 2-week-old can.

Life as a mom can be crazy... sticky fingers and messy faces seem to need constant cleaning.  Books and toys are often strewn all over the place--be careful not to step on any!  Frequent changes in scenery seem to be required to keep the mind of such inquisitive little girls busy. As a family, and throughout the week, we love to take trips to the zoo, playgrounds, Grammy and Papa J's house, and Ma and Pa's house.  Trips to the grocery store are also fun for the littles because of all the attention that they get.  I a blessed beyond measure to have the family that I have.

Although I fail many times, my ultimate goal is to glorify God in all that I do.  For me, this is an ever-growing process.  As soon as I feel on top of it all--getting everything done--I realize that my attitude in doing it isn't right.  When I feel like my attitude is adjusted and my heart is in the right place, I seem to no longer stay on top of the everyday tasks as well.  I know that God has called me to be here, now.  I am a stay-at-home-mommy {which is still a lot of work} and the daughter of the King.  I love my calling.

I hope you enjoy getting a glimpse of my life!
